Why is a HEALTHY GUT important when it comes to weight loss?

From what I have seen in my own coaching experience 95% of the general population are deficient in a wide range of vitamins and minerals due a poor vegetable intake which can lead to a whole host of health issues but it can effect your gut health.

Now why is this so important?
_
For the simple reason that 70% of our immune function resides in the gut. So if you have a gut issue your ability to fight off infection and sickness will be comprised which can lead you to fall off the wagon if you get sick for example.
_
Without getting into it too much but a massive component of health is a to have a healthy gut that is proliferating in healthy bacteria 🦠
_
Healthy gut bacteria can be comprised due the western approach to diet which includes high intake of refined sugar and processed foods, where bad bacteria can often outnumber the good bacteria which can lead to a host of issues such as SIBO, Dybosis and “Leaky Gut”. Your immune will also be effected due to these issues thus leading to a increased risk of picking up infections (Rinninella et al. 2019).

An unhealthy gut will also cause a lot of inflammation which can really mess up the digestive process, if it is not working efficiently the calories you consume from food may not be utilized effectively.

It can also effect your mood, concentration, sleep and you may be less full after meals which will cause cravings to go through the roof.

Every cell has a job to do in the body…so imagine if you went to work without your tools for the day.

It wouldn’t be the most productive day now would it? 🤨
